If you are active on social media or manage social media channels, you’ve likely heard of Linktree. Linktree is a freemium social media landing page that you can use for that one link you can put in your social media profile. It essentially allows brand and people to place a single link that then links to multiple places that the brand or profile deems important.

But did you know if you use WordPress there are Linktree alternatives you can use? And they’re free!
WP MyLinks
This is what we are actively using right now. We just have one set of links right now for our TikTok profile but plan on building out unique sets of quick link pages based on the platform and our goal.

Pros
- Free and easy to install
- Works with Yoast SEO for meta data
- Lots of themes to choose from
- Very simple to setup
Cons
- Link creation can be wonky and require use of redirect tool
- Weird styling if you don’t use icon with link
- Requires installation of a plugin
You can install this plugin by going to the plugin area of your WordPress Admin and searching for WP MyLinks and installing through there or clicking the link and downloading the zip file.
Bio Links
This was the first one we checked out and liked it and if you want a really barebones style that has a few default styles and is very fast to load, this is the one for you.
Pros
- Free and easy to install
- Very simple to setup
- Clean styles and themes
Cons
- No way to set meta data right now
- Requires installation of a plugin
You can install this plugin by going to the plugin area of your WordPress Admin and searching for Bio Links and installing through there or clicking the link and downloading the zip file.
There’s WP Bio Links as well which does something similar but we haven’t vetted or tried it.
Make Your Own
The idea is pretty simple here, you’re just create a mobile friendly page with links or buttons to other pages. The idea of a plugin is nice but it’s definitely not necessary.
We use Elementor for our theme builder on Gator SEM and creating mobile friendly pages is really simple so it’s something we’re going to look into because it removes an unnecessary plugin when it’s not necessarily needed for a simple page like this.
So if your WordPress theme has a page builder and some simple templating solutions, it’s worth checking out. Heck, there might even be an Elementor template we can import and have it done right away.
Why not just use Linktree?
Great question! If you’re strapped on time and need something asap, Linktree and other third party micro landing pages will work just fine but the biggest value of putting it on your own site is you can get your users used to visiting your site for content.
If you’re selling a service or product, when they land on your site you have the opportunity to present them with pixels on Facebook and other platforms for remarketing later.
Also, just more control over how you present the information and styles when you put it on your own website.
